MEET OUR VETERINARIANS

Linda I. Morris, DVM

Originally from Arizona, Dr. Morris graduated from Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Her tireless good humor, compassion for her patients, and demand for quality medicine enhances the level of service and care WMAH provides. Dr. Morris has been a part of WMAH since 1995 and is one of the owners acting as the Chief Medical Officer. She and her partner Alan live on a Shaftsbury farm with a variety of animals large and small. Outside the clinic, she enjoys competitive horseback riding and working on her farm where they produce nearly all of their own food.

Bob Bergman, VMD

Dr. Bob grew up near Pittsburgh (go Steelers!) and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests lie in wellness medicine. He has served as a member of the Vermont Veterinary State Board and the Vermont Professional Responsibility Program. During his time outside of the hospital, he would prefer to be on his skis, bicycle, motorcycle, kayak, wearing his running shoes and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bo Bergman, DVM

Dr. Bo joined WMAH in 2009 and is the son of Dr. Bob Bergman and Dr. Anna Worth. Dr. Bo graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2009, where he served as class president and received the Grimes Leadership Award, the Novartis Ethicon Surgical Excellence Award and the Client Communication Award. Dr. Bo has a strong interest in surgery and wellness medicine. He has served on the board of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association and is a current board member at Second Chance Animal Center. Dr. Bo is one of the owners of West Mountain Animal Hospital. Dr. Bo spends his time outside of the clinic with his wife and and two daughters and their menagerie of animals staying active outside and enjoying photography.

Sarah Blau, DVM

Dr. Sarah Blau joined the WMAH family in 2017. She brings with her a great medical knowledge base and provides a high level of client and patient care. Her attention to detail and the desire to help her patients in every way possible fits perfectly with the WMAH culture. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she worked as a Science Communicator for the Environmental Protection Agency and spent two years as an AmeriCorps volunteer after receiving a bachelors in Physics from Guilford College. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University in 2017 where her extracurricular activities included being the President of the Veterinary Volunteer Service Corps, receiving a National Institute of Health grant, and volunteering as a surgeon for the NCSU Mobile Surgery unit. When not in the clinic, you’re most likely to find her hiking with her two dogs, Cheddar and Pepper Jackson.

Dana Ames, DVM

Dr. Ames joined the WMAH family in July 2018 and brings with her 3 years of knowledgeable medical care and excellent client service. Originally from the Albany, NY area, Dr. Ames traveled to the Midwest to attend the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with honors in 2015. Her compassionate care and strong work ethic make her well-suited for our practice. Her special interests include internal medicine and ophthalmology. Outside of work she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, kayaking, playing soccer, as well as spending time with her family and friends. She shares her home with her boyfriend, Adam, and her gregarious orange and white cat, “DiNozzo.”

In Loving Memory:

Anna E. Worth, VMD

WMAH continues to celebrate the life of Dr. Anna Worth, who passed away in May of 2009. Dr. Worth was unparalleled in her dedication to the health and well being of companion animals and promoting awareness in animal health care. Her enthusiasm, positive energy, and progressive ideas helped make WMAH into what it is today. Beyond WMAH, Dr. Anna was very involved in organized veterinary medicine.

Locally, she served on the Board of the Bennington County Humane Society. She also served as President of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA), where she founded and edited the VVMA newsletter. She served as the Vermont delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association from 1992 – 1999. In 1992 she received the Massachusetts SPCA Veterinarian of the Year Award, and in 1997 the David Walker Award.

She served as chairperson for the Vermont Cruelty Task Force and the Vermont Animal Welfare Committee. Anna became passionately involved with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), an international organization focused on raising the level of companion animal health care and providing standards and accreditation for 3,000 hospitals and 40,000 veterinary professionals. She served on numerous AAHA committees, including the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Accredited Referral Practice Task Force, and the Animal Welfare and Ethics Task Force. She acted as the AAHA representative for the CATalyst Council, National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association.

In 2005 she helped found the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, which provides funds to pets and clients in need. From 2008 to 2009, during her illness, she served as the AAHA President and championed Student Advocacy, Mentoring Guidelines, and had numerous speaking engagements at veterinary colleges in the US and Canada. During her AAHA tenure, she continued to be involved in other veterinary activities, including a Veterinary Management Group, the AAHA Veterinary Management Institute, and President of the Society for Veterinary Medical Ethics. Because of her accomplishments and far-reaching influence, she is missed by members of her profession worldwide.
